WSET Level 4 - D6 Independent Research

$385.00

Students will be given two possible WSET-specified research topics to choose from (these will change annually). Through research of their chosen topics, they must demonstrate their knowledge – citing relevant source material – while developing a convincing and compelling argument from a unique point of view.

The Assessment:

  • 3,000-word research paper

  • Submission Deadline: Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Registration deadline January 10.

  • Submission Deadline: Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Registration deadline July 10.

D6 is a culmination unit requiring approximately 50 hours of independent research on a wine-related topic specified by WSET (new topics are released each August). The final research paper requires presentation of detailed research, a bibliography and a student’s own view point.

Prior to submission, students must attend an informational session detailing best research strategies, bibliography creation, and rules of presentation. Information sessions are held the first Sunday of December and the first Sunday of June, 7pm.

Can’t attend an information session? You can also schedule a one-on-one meeting with your Diploma Advisor.
