Food and Wine Pairing Class
There will be eating. There will be tasting. There will be fun ...
One of the great joys found in wine is uncorking the perfect bottle to share over a great meal. Together, we will unpack how they can complement one another and why – sometimes – they may not. As we taste through some classic pairings, discover how basic components of both food (acids, fats, proteins …) and wine (tannins, acidity, weight …) can come together in concert. We will also delve into the use of flavor and aroma profiles in order to curate food & wine partnerships that can be better than the sum of their parts.
*There are no prerequisites for this course; however, newer students have found the fundamentals learned in Wine 101: Palate Primer Class greatly enhanced the experience.
**Small bites will be enjoyed along with the flight of wines in this class, but it will not include a full meal. Please note, students should plan to eat before or after class.
