Classic grape varieties and wine regions are classic for a region: they make great wines. But once you've got the basics down, an exploration of lesser-known wine styles can offer the jaded palate a taste of something different, and often at a wonderful price point. If you're ready to move beyond Chardonnay and Cabernet, Napa and Marlborough, this is the class for you!

Who should attend: This class is ideal for students who have completed the Introduction to Wine Series, Grape to Glass Series, or other wine classes, but is open to anyone with a basic understanding of wines and wine tasting. An eagerness for learning about unusual and unique wines is a must!

About the instructor: Mimi Martin is director of The Wine & Spirit Archive, is a Certified Wine Educator, and holds the WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits.
