Friday, December 4, 2020; 7pm to 8pm.
Join us in the Online Classroom from the comfort of home!
Tuition: $35 for one student household / $45 for two student household. Optional $45 add-on gets you two delicious bottles of Chilean wine to enjoy along with class. Wines to be picked up at The WSA.
The wines of Chile are evolving and dynamic, from the traditional robust red wines that defined Chile’s wine history to the terroir-obsessive, old-vine wines energizing the current wine scene, Chile’s wine industry offers diversity, excitement and tremendous value.
In the class, we will explore the varied topography and terroir of Chile from the vineyards growing in view of the Pacific Ocean, through the Entre Cordillera and up into the Andes and learn why Miguel Torres famously referred to Chile as a “Wine Growers Paradise.”
About the instructor: Jeff D. Peterson is a sociologist and professor in the Wine Studies Program at Linfield University. Jeff grew up in Latin America and has traveled extensively through Latin American wine regions. Through his project Vinum Docet (Latin for wine educates) his mission is to share his love of wine in ways that go beyond conventional technical tastings, helping people explore the many ways in which wine can be experienced.
