Join soil expert and geotechnical engineer, Cynthia Hovind, for a deep dive into the fundamentals of dirt, rocks and their impact on wine growing and wine styles. Cindy will walk us through the properties of various rock types including intrusive vs. extrusive, sedimentary, continental vs. transitional vs. marine environments, and metamorphic. Next, students will learn about different types of soils including variations in textures, properties, formation and their influence in the vineyards.
