


Exploring Spain: The Wines of the Camino de Santiago
Friday, February 3, 2023; 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Classes held at The Wine & Spirit Archive, 3319 SE 50th Ave, Portland, OR. Tuition: $65.
In this class, students will explore the wine regions along the Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James), the route leading pilgrims to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Campostela.
This route travels through many of Spain’s most distinctive and important wine regions, including: La Rioja, Navarra, Ribera del Duero, Bierzo, and Galicia.
Class will include discussion of wine history, unique topography and soils, grape varieties and winemaking traditions all underscored by a fabulous flight of wines!
About your instructor: This class is taught by Dr. Jeff D. Peterson, former Professor and a founding faculty member of Linfield University’s Wine Studies Program. He now focuses on wine education and travel through his wine tour company, Vinum Docet. Jeff has walked the Camino twice and enjoyed copious amounts of wine on both trips!
