The Exam:

  • A two-day exam:

    • Day 1: Theory: 11:00am to 3:20pm (wth a one-hour lunch break). Five (of seven) questions answered.

    • Day 2: Tasting: 10:30am to 2:30pm (with a one-hour lunch break). Four flights of three wines each: 1) Grape Variety, 2) Region, 3) Country, 4) Mixed Bag

  • Exams dates are set globally by WSET.

  • D3 Exams are offered once per year in May (typically, on a Tuesday/Wednesday). Next available dates: May 12 (Theory) / May 13 (Tasting), 2026.

  • Registration deadline: 13 weeks before exam date.

About the Exam:

The exam is held at The Wine & Spirit Archive, 3319 SE 50th Ave, Portland, OR.

Please arrive between 10 to 15 minutes before the exam start time to complete the exam registration process. WSET does not allow early entry to the classroom.

Please bring pen/pencil and photo ID. Scented lotions, cologne and perfumes are not permitted in the exam room.
