WSET Level 3 Award in Wine Online

The online offering of the WSET Level 3 Award in Wine offers students the opportunity to study on their own schedule over a nine-week course period. Learning is guided by an online tutor and broken into nine weekly learning modules. Interactive assignments and practice tests help students refine their studying and exam preparations. 


Please note: Although the majority of this course is held online, students will take the exam in Portland, Oregon on the specified exam date. Course registration also includes an in-class training in the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting held the day prior to the exam.

Who should attend:This advanced level course is appropriate for students with a strong foundation in wine knowledge and tasting technique.  The WSET Level 2 Award in Wine is a strongly recommended prerequisite. Students should plan to allocate at least 90 hours to their studying in order to be successful. 

About the exam: The certification exam at the end of the course includes blind evaluation of 2 wines, 50 multiple choice questions and 4 short-answer/essay questions. Students who successfully complete this exam are awarded the WSET Level 3 Award in Wine.


About the instructors: This course will be led by a WSET online tutor. The one-day tasting training will be taught by Mimi Martin, DipWSET, CWE.

Exam prep day: Friday, May 1, 10:00am
Certification exam: Saturday, May 2, 10:00am
