Wine from Grape to Glass

$60 tuition / $54 for Members

Making wine is a bit like a choose-you-own-adventure story. At each step in the growing and winemaking process there are opportunities to affect and shift a wine's personality. In this class, we will explore how grapes move from the vineyard to the glass and how decisions at each step -- such as picking time, yeast, fermentation temperatures, maturation vessels and more -- impact what we taste. And because tasting is believing, students will participate in a guided tasting of 8 wines illustrating the concepts discussed in class. 

Who should attend: This class is approximate for all levels and assumes no previous knowledge of wine. It's ideal for students who want to learn what factors -- beyond grape variety -- determine how wine tastes.

About the instructor: Mimi Martin is director of The Wine & Spirit Archive and holds the WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits.
