Negroni
The Negroni makes frequent appearances at WSA cocktail hour and for good reason: it's simply one of the best cocktails in the world. If your Negroni seems to lack luster don't blame the recipe; it might be the fault of your vermouth. The lifespan of vermouth is relatively short, so buy small bottles, store in the refrigerator, and replace often. Vya and Punt y Mes are particularly characterful brands.
- 1-1/2 oz gin
- 1-1/2 oz Campari
- 1-1/2 oz sweet vermouth
- orange twist
Combine gin, Campari and sweet vermouth in an ice filled bar glass and stir until well chilled. Strain into an ice filled rocks glass and garnish with orange twist.
