Wine 101 - Palate Primer

$55 tuition / $48 for Members

In this tasting-focused class, students will explore the tactile building blocks of wine including acid, tannin, sugar and alcohol as well as the primary wine aroma/flavor categories. Students will learn how to identify and describe these essential wine components and will also learn how grape variety, growing conditions and winemaking shape a wine's personality.

This class is open to all levels, but is ideal for students who wants to improve their ability to describe wine and better understand why wines taste the way they do.

About the instructor: Mimi Martin is director of The Wine & Spirit Archive and holds the WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits.
