Position: Wine Manager

Level of Wine Proficiency: Sommelier experience - certification a plus

Job Description: Purple Café & Wine Bar, a high volume restaurant with an extensive wine list located in downtown Seattle, is seeking a full time manager with Sommelier experience (certification a plus!). This position will assist in managing the front of the house restaurant operations with emphasis in the wine and spirits department.

Some duties will include: Wine service and sales Assist with inventory of wine and spirits; Upkeep of all beverage equipment, glassware and wine lists; Point of Sale audits Assist in staff education and training; Coaching and counseling of staff; Ensure service standards are met and consistently followed; Ensure complete guest satisfaction at all times

Candidate should possess the following qualifications: Minimum of 2 years experience. Ability to share wine knowledge with guests in a fun, non-intimidating manner. Wine and food pairing skills. Familiarity with cocktails, aperitifs, digestifs, dessert wines, scotch, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
