This three-session immersion course covers the basics of wine from a simple perspective: you learn about wine by tasting wine. By the end of this course, you will be well armed to go into any wine store or restaurant and confidently select a wine in a style that you want. The "Big Seven" Varieties: The Fundamentals of Tasting

This class covers the basics of analyzing, tasting and discussing wines through a comparison and tasting of the "big seven" grape varietals (Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon). Learn the techniques wine professionals use to distinguish these varietals from one another and how to identify differences in color, body, aroma, acidity, sweetness and tannin.

Flavors and Aromas: Expanding Your Wine Vocabulary

In this class you will learn how to identify a wine's region of origin including differences between Old World and New World wines, common flavor profiles of well-known regions, and the impact of different climates on grape varietals.
