Home study is available for individuals who live outside of the Portland and Seattle areas. Home study students receive all course texts and handouts and also have access to course instructors through email and phone correspondence.

WSET Intermediate Certificate — Home Study

Home study materials include: Wine and Spirits: Looking Behind the Label textbook, course study guide, practice quizzes, list of all wines tasted in class, and all other course handouts.

You must give us three weeks notice to participate in a regularly scheduled exam. There is an additional fee of $250 to schedule an exam for another date or time.
WSET Advanced Certificate — Home Study
$505 + $15 shipping fee
Home study materials include: Exploring the World of Wines and Spirits textbook, course study guide, practice quizzes, list of all wines tasted in class, and all other course handouts.

studying the material
To receive the full benefit of the course, try to taste the type of wines recommended in your materials as you move through your course materials. Make sure to practice WSET's Systematic Approach to Tasting as you do so. Some students find it useful to organize a tasting group for this purpose. We are available by email and telephone should you have any questions.
taking the examination
When you are ready to schedule your exam, make sure to contact us at least three weeks before the exam's scheduled date. Private exams can be arranged for an additional fee if you are unable to attend a scheduled exam.
receiving your examination results
Results are received between three to twelve weeks after the exam date, depending on the exam taken. After we receive your results from WSET, we will notify you by email and shortly thereafter you will receive your certificate by mail.
