If what you know about biodynamics is that it involves a cow horn, manure and something about the moon, it's time to enroll in Katherine Cole's biodynamics primer. Katherine will demystify the process for us (to the extent that's possible!) with an in depth look at the philosophies, practices and wines of The Willamette' Valley's biodynamic wine-growers. The class will start at the beginning with the work of founder Rudolf Steiner and will focus on the rationale behind biodynamic practices and applications. Students will also have the opportunity to taste for themselves as we pour through a selection of Katherine's favorite biodynamic producers. And yes, hopefully we'll finally get the scoop on the cow horn!

About the instructor: Katherine Cole is wine columnist at The Oregonian and Mix Magazine and is author of the soon-to-be-published "Voodoo Vintners: Oregon's Astonishing Biodynamic Winegrowers."
